Well, first came the 'great plant debate' - real or faux?

You see, I love house plants but they don't love me and rarely stay alive for long, with the  exception of an extremely hardcore 9ft Yucca that I've had for some years now who refuses to be killed off despite, 3 house moves, several pot catastrophes, severe episodes of drought followed by severe episodes of flooding (caused by guilt about the drought). Plus, I've moved into an apartment with very little light, so I have to agree I was tempted by the faux.

Abigail Ahern's faux offerings I have to say were extremely inviting and what's more they looked real - unlike so many of the pathetic faux offerings out there.

Abigail states that her fake plants have gone to winery's in California, A list celebrities and even the Vatican. However, despite this amazing accolade, I'm still undecided and I'm wrestling with my conscience. Maybe I feel a little guilty actually considering faking it, when Mother Nature has so many wonderful specimens that could brighten up my window sills and office desk. I'm still contemplating this one.

But then came along the trend for terrariums and bottle gardens and yes,  I am now an addict. How and Why? - I hear you ask.

Well, I can only assume that it's a childhood thing. As a child of the 70s, bottle gardens, terrariums and macramé hanging plant holders were all the rage. Now I'm not going so far as to learn macramé and grow spider plants, but I can at least create my own pretty little eco system in a small glass pyramid ... well it keeps me out of trouble!

The beauty of terrariums, apart from the obvious, is that you can create a veritable garden in such a small space by using a multitude of sweet little, miniature plants. Whats not to love - both space saving and stylish.

If you're inspired to create your own miniature garden then pop on over to our website where we have just acquired some rather lovely terrariums of our own, that we would love to share with you.

Happy gardening,

Angela x

Preparing for Living North Live Spring Fair

Well, Christmas is well and truly behind us and I've just recovered enough from the whirlwind of fairs and events to begin the preparation for the Spring events!

Our first fair this year will be at Living North Live Newcastle 20 - 22nd March and I am so excited to be exhibiting there. Living North Live is an annual shopping and lifestyle exhibition packed full of inspirational ideas for your home. The exhibitors vary from the large, high street home interior retailers, to the small independent, more specialist businesses like ours.

I'm just trying to think of an amazing design for our stand. We have a lot to live up to as we won 'Best Overall Stand' at Living North's Christmas Event, so I'm aiming high again this time - no pressure then!

I will be taking along our show stopping marquee lights as they were such a big hit at Living North's Christmas Fair and have even been featured on Coronation Street, when Nick's Bistro had a fabulous makeover!

These amazing, custom built arrow lights are made  in the UK from reclaimed wood and steel and are a fantastic way to direct guests to your party or wedding venue. They also look equally fabulous as lighting in your home, either hanging on a wall or free standing on a shelf.

The difficult decision is deciding which colour to choose!

I'll also be bringing along some of our fabulous Spring/Summer Collection of homewares and design-led gifts, including a wonderful selection of white washed, wooden home accessories, all designed to help you get organised - in style of course!

They are all designed to offer you the ideal answer to your storage needs and the lovely white washed finish of these home accessories will complement most interior styles.

Some new additions also include these fabulous, feather filled, linen cushions in neutral tones of beige, sage and grey. Cushions are the perfect and a cost effective way of sprucing up and refreshing the look of a room.

And with an amazing price of £22.95 they re sure to get snapped up quickly!

Tickets can be pre-ordered for Living North Live Newcastle at:
